ABSTRACT
We present the results from monitoring observations of seven Seyfert galaxies in May 2001 from Skinakas Observatory. The objects were observed in the U,B,V and I bands. Our main aim is to determine the basic variability characteristics of the sources (i.e. variability amplitude, auto-covariance functions) and investigate possible differences between the sources and the dependence of the variability charactersitics on wavelength. We also investigate the cross-links between the observed variations at different wavebands using cros-correlation analysis techniques. We discuss the implications of our results on the various mechanisms for the origin of optical variability in Seyferts galaxies.
