ABSTRACT
We will present the analysis of a campaign in X-Ray and optical of merging clusters of galaxies. Spectro-imaging of the merging cluster Abell 521 have been obtained with Chandra , as well as multi-color wide field imaging with the CFHT wide angle camera, and multi-object spectroscopy at ESO. We will discuss the dynamical state of this cluster at the light of these data, and the relation to its large-scale environnment and stellar population, in a scenario invoking merger events.
