NATIONAL ELECTIONS IN GREECE-8TH HELAS CONFERENCE, THASSOS,13-15 SEPTEMBER 2007

After the announcement of national elections by the greek government at September 16 2007, the Helas has decided to proceed with the completion of the 8th Hellenic Astronomical Conference according to schedule.
The conference will occur as the program indicates in Thassos island, 13-15 September 2007.

1. Posters of each session, should be available for conference attendants, as long as the particular session lasts, according to program.

2. We suggest that authors should prepare their posters the evening before morning sessions are scheduled and also at noon before afternoon sessions are scheduled. Poster's room at "Kalogeriko" (Limenas) will be available for authors who wish to prepare their poster, during Wednesday, 12 September 2007, evening.

On Wednesday, 12/09/2007, at 14:00, a bus at Megas Alexandros Airport of Kavala will transfer conference attendants from the airport to Keramoti port, to take the ferry to Thassos island.
A bus will also be available for conference attendants to move from Makryammos to Limenas and vice versa, at appropriate times. Bus timetables will be announced.

Dinner at Makryammos Bungalows will be served daily at 18:30 up to 21:00 (on Thursday dinner will be served at 21:30 to 23:30).

14:00 - 16:00 Visit to the Monastery "Archangelos". Lenten food offered by the nuns.

17:45 - 19:00 Visit the ancient "Agora" and Archeological Musseum of Thassos.

1 - Poster Dimensions - All poster stands are appropriate for posters not exceeding the following upper limits:
-height : 120 cm
-width : 90 cm

2 - Additional Oral Presentations / Session 1 Only - On Saturday (15/09/2007) a half hour time period (13:30 - 14:00) will be available for the poster contributors of the 1st Session to make a brief (~2 minutes) oral presentation of their paper. All interested authors should inform the staff at the welcoming desk for their intentions during the conference as soon as possible. The exact available time for each talk will be determined by the number of authors interested. The oral presentation is optional.
