Flying to Kavala

The airprot of Kavala is located 32 km away from the city center. There are direct scheduled flights to the Kavala airport from abroad and four connections from Athens to Kavala daily with Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines. The Athens international airport can ber reached with numerous flights from all major airports around the world.

From the airport to the Keramoti port

Taxis are available outside the arrivals area of the airport. The ride to the port of Keramoti takes about 7 minutes and costs 10-15 euros, depending on the luggage. We hope that there will be a bus to transfer conference participants arriving on Wendesday evening

Ferries to Thassos

There are ferries operating between Keramoti-Thassos (Limenas) and Kavala-Skala Prinos and participants are advised to be at the ferry at least half hour before departure if they travel with a car. The port of Keramoti is recommended. The current fare for a single adult passenger on the ferry is €1.70; the cost for a car depends on its size. Getting to the Conference Location (Makryammos Bungalows)

The Conference will take place at the Hotel "Makryammos Bungalows" located in the island of Thassos and very close to the port of Limenas (around 2 km). Conference busses will be available for transport between Limenas and the Conference Location. More details will be provided with the 3rd Announcement

Visa requirements

Citizens of the European Union do not need a visa to visit Greece

Holders of a valid SCHENGEN VISA can enter Greece

On Wednesday, 12/09/2007, at 14:00, a bus at Megas Alexandros Airport of Kavala will transfer conference attendants from the airport to Keramoti port, to take the ferry to Thassos island.
A bus will also be available for conference attendants to move from Makryammos to Limenas and vice versa, at appropriate times. Bus timetables will be announced.
