4. MEETING OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF Hel.A.S.

On June 12 2006 the Governing Council (GC) of HelAS held via teleconference a meeting to discuss various issues related to the organizational matters of the Society, along with the developments on the upcoming Hel.A.S. Conference in Thassos. One of the topics discussed was the request by a number of members to terminate their Hel.A.S. membership, as well as the situation with members who no longer fulfill the membership criteria, as these are stated by the Constitution. The GC decided unanimously to follow the procedures and remove all those members (a total of 32) from the Society. This brings the current number of Hel.A.S. members to 246. The next General Assembly of the Society will be informed of these changes by the Secretary. All members are strongly encouraged to review the minutes of this GC meeting which are available online at:

If was also clarified by the GC that the due date for the payment of the annual membership fee of a given year is the 1st of September of that same year. Consequently, the annual membership fee for 2007 is due on September 1st 2007.
