1. THE 11th CONFERENCE OF HEL.A.S. |

2. 2013 BEST PHD THESIS PRIZE |
Six nominations were sent to the Society's Council in response to the "Best PhD thesis Prize" that the Council had announced in October 2011. The Council is very pleased to inform all the members of the Society that the quality of all nominee's thesis was of the highest standard. The Council decided unanimously to award the Prize to Dr. Papastergis, who was awarded his PhD from the Astronomy Department in Cornell University. Dr. Papastergis will present an oral talk on his thesis in the forthcoming Conference of the Society. More information can be found here, in Greek, and here, in English.

3. IKY's FELLOWSHIPS. |
The Greek National Institute of Fellowships (IKY) has announced its graduate (MSc) fellowship program for 2013-2014. The application deadline is September 12, 2013. For more information on the requirements and application forms (in Greek) visit: www.iky.gr/fellowship.

4. HEIDELBERG PHD ASTRONOMY SCHOOL |
Applications are invited for the doctoral program of the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy & Cosmic Physics at the University of Heidelberg (IMPRS-HD), starting in summer/autumn 2014. IMPRS-HD offers several fellowships within a 3-year graduate program. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2013 for the academic year starting September 2014. An earlier start of the research work is possible. Further information and details of the application procedure can be found at http://www.mpia.de/imprs-hd/.
