In this page we present a database of 660 individuals of greek descent, who have obtained a PhD in Astrophysics, Dynamical Astronomy, or Space Physics, either in Greece or abroad. We also include a handfull of non-greek nationals who obtained their PhD from a Greek University.

In some cases a brief biography is also included. The information presented here reflects our records as of July 20th, 2024.

Some statistical information on the PhD holders is also available.

This archive has been prepared and it is maintained by Prof. V. Charmandaris. It has used as a basis the infromation on greek astronomers that had been collected by Prof. Laskarides, and it was presented in the Greek Astronomers Yearbook, Eds 2009 (PDF file - 80 MBytes).
