The Governing Council of HEL.A.S. is pleased to announce that the first "HEL.A.S. Summer School" will take place in the "Kostis Palamas" building of the University of Athens, from 1st to 5th of September, 2014. The intention to organise such a school, in order to support the work of the PhD members of the Society, was first discussed in our General Assembly last September. The formal decision was taken in the previous meeting of the Governing Council which took place last December. The title of the School is: "Physical Processes and Data Analysis in Heliophysics". More information, and a dedicated web page, will appear in our web page soon.

3. CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE 2.3 m ARISTARCHOS TELESCOPE

The Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications, and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens is pleased to announce the 2014 Call for Proposals for the 2.3m Aristarchos telescope. The observing period is between August 1st 2014 and October 31st 2014. Up to 25% of the time will be available to researchers affiliated with a Greek academic institution. The available instrumentation for this period includes a 4.8x4.8 arcmin optical camera, a wide field fast imager for exoplanet transit timing camera (RISE2), and a low/medium dispersion fiber-fed spectrometer (ATS).
