We would like to congratulate Dr. Maria Kopsacheili who has recently been awarded the "Juan de la Cierva Fellowship" , funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, that allows outstanding young researchers to establish a postdoctoral career in Spanish research institutions. Dr. Kopsacheili has been a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE) in Barcelona since September 2022, after having received the ICE Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Society extends its best wishes for further success in her professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Athanasia Gkogkou who has recently successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled “Intensity mapping from 2D to 3D: Evaluating the feasibility of interpreting upcoming data” at the Université Aix-Marseille in France under the supervision of Dr. Guilaine Lagache and Dr. Mathhieu Béthermin. Dr. Gkogkou has since moved as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Astrophysics & the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Helas. The Society extends its best wishes for further success in her professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Evangelia Liokati for successfully completing her PhD thesis at the Department of Physics of the University of Ioannina, under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Nindos. The thesis was entitled "A study of eruptive phenomena in solar active regions". The Society extends its best wishes to Dr. Liokati for further successes in her professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Dr. Stella Boula who has recently accepted an offer for a postdoctoral position at the Brera Astronomical Observatory, INAF, in Merate, Italy. We would like to congratulate Stavros Avgoloupis, Emeritus Professor at the Univ. of Thessaloniki and Founding Members of our Society, who was recently awarded the "Praise of the the Kostas and Eleni Ourani Foundation" by the Academy of Athens, in recognition of his astronomy books for children.
We would like to inform our members that Dr. Georgia Tsiropoula has recently retired from her position of Director of Research (Researcher A), at IAASARS/NOA. The Society extends its best wishes and all the best for this new phase in her personal and professional life.
