7. Job Opportunities in Greece |
1) The Institute of Astrophysics at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IA-FORTH) invites applications for a 3-year PhD position broadly on blazars and Tidal Disruption events to work with Dr. Ioannis Liodakis’s group, funded by the ERC Starting Grant BOOTES (Black hOle Optical polarization TimE-domain Survey). BOOTES is focusing on multiwavelength polarization observations of blazars and TDEs trying to understand early accretion disk and jet formation as well particle acceleration and high-energy processes in jets from supermassive black holes. More information is available here.
2) The Institute of Astrophysics at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IA-FORTH) invites applications for several PhD positions broadly on supermassive black hole binaries to work in Dr. Maria Charisi’s group, funded by the ERC Starting Grant MMMonsters. MMMonsters aims to detect supermassive black hole binaries using electromagnetic (time-domain) and gravitational-wave (PTA) data and the combination of the two. More information is available here.
3) The Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) invites applications for a postdoctoral position on the topic of "Scientific analysis of very high energy particles", funded by the Horizon Europe program SPEARHEAD, to work with Dr. A. Papaioannou. More information is available here.
