He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Chicago (2005 - 2008) and at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (a NASA lab run by Caltech) (2008-2011). He was elected as an Assistant Professort at the University of Crete in 2011, and he joined the Department of Physics in the fall of 2012. Between 2011 and 2012 he was a Visiting Scientist at the Max-Planck Institute for Radioastronomy in Bonn, Germany. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2018 and to a Professor in 2023.

Yervant Terzian received the B.Sc. in Physics Mathematics from the American University in Cairo (1960), the M.Sc. in Astronomy (1963) and the Ph.D. in Astronomy (1965) from the Indiana University, as well as four Honorary D.Sc. from the Indiana University (1989), the Yerevan State University, Armenia (1994), the University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1997) and the Union College, New York (1999). He was born in Athens, Greece on the 12th of March, 1949. He got his B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1972) and his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Physics Department of the University of Athens, Greece (1983). He has worked as Laboratory Assistant, Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the Physics Department of the University of Athens. His scientific interests include History and Philosophy of Astronomy and Physical Sciences, Observational Astronomy and Astrophysics, Satellite spectrophotometry of Be and variable stars. He has published 43 scientific papers in refereed journals (14 in Astrophysics and 29 in History and Philosophy of Astronomy), 18 papers in the British Sundial Society Bulletin (BSB) and North American Sundial Society Bulletin (NASS) and 147 papers in conference proceedings in Greece and abroad (65 in Astrophysics and 82 in History and Philosophy of Astronomy). He has been awarded the "Hellenic- American University prize" in the 1st International Science Film Festival, for this television series. He has been honored by the Hellenic Union of Physicists for all of his scientific and educational activities. He is a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the European Astronomical Union (E.A.S.), the Hellenic Astronomical Society (Hel.A.S, founding member), the Hellenic Union of Physicists, the Hellenic Union of Mathematics, the Foundation of "Preserving Language Heritage" and the Foundation of “Historical Studies of Ancient Greek Mathematics.

He has spent one year as a visiting researcher in the Max Planck Institute in Munich/Germany, one year in the Space Research Laboratory Utrecht/ The Netherlands and several other laboratories for shorter periods. He was a tutor for five years in the Military School of Air Forces in both flying and engineering department, teaching space physics and space technology. His scientific interests include solar physics, near interplanetary physics and solar-terrestrial relations. He has published about 55 scientific papers in refereed journals and about 45 papers in conference proceedings and special volumes / books. He has also published a textbook on Space Physics and Technology for the cadets of the Air Force Academy of Greece. He is a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), American Geophysical Union (AGU), Hellenic Astronomical Society (Hel.A.S.), Hellenic Astronautical Union (HAU), Hellenic Physical Union, Scientific Program Committee (SPC) of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the High Level Working Group (HLWG) of the Group on Earth Observation (GEO) (since 2005).
