He graduated from the University of Thessaloniki in 1991, obtained a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Univ. of Crete in 1995, has been a research fellow at the Observatoire de Paris in Meudon, France (1992-1993) and at the Univ. of Strasbourg 1994). At the time of the accident which ended his life he was employed as a Researcher at the Hellenic Center for Marine Research and the TEI of Heraklion, in Crete.
