1. Short News

The Society would like to extend to each Members its best wishes for the new academic year.

The Society would like to congratulate Ordinary Member Matthaios Katsanikas for securing a Research Associate position at the School of Mathematics, University of Bristol, UK. Dr. Katsanikas will be moving to his new position imminently. The Society extends its best wishes to Dr. Katsanikas for a prolific career and success in his pursuits.

 
2. Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation: New Website and Calls
The newly established Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) has posted notices of intent to issue two (2) new calls for support, one for graduate students and one for regular staff members at Universities and Research Institutes. Both notices are available in the website of the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT), in particular here and here.

The GSRT web site routinely posts HFRI notifications.

In addition, the HFRI has moved to establish a new web site, namely
 

At this time, the site seems to contain only minimal information but interested colleagues are encouraged to consult it regularly for calls, news and updates.
 
3. New Tenure Track Position at IAASARS / NOA

The Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), has an opening of a new tenure track position at the level of "Associate Researcher (Researcher C')" in the field of "Heliophysics with Emphasis in the Study of the Sun and Geospace". The application deadline is September 22, 2017. More information (in greek) is available here.
