We would like to congratulate Dr. Georgios Valogiannis who has recently moved from Harvard University to the University of Chicago as a "Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science" Postdoctoral Fellow. The Society extends its best wishes for further success in his professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Dr. Dimitrios Souropanis, who will soon move from IAASARS/NOA to the Institute of Astrophysics - FORTH, as a postdoctoral researcher of the HFRI project entitled "Stellar Feedback: Explosive, Radiative, Interacting, and Coalescing Stars in their Surroundings (SFERICSS)" led by Dr. Manos Zapartas. The Society extends its best wishes for further success in his professional pursuits.

| 2. HelAS Annual Membership Fee |
|
We would like to remind all members of the Society, that the deadline for the payment of the annual membership fee for the year 2023 was August 31st. If you are uncertain about your payment status please contact the Secretary of the Society. Members with outstanding dues of two or more years have received an e-mail requesting to pay their annual membership fees, according to the statues of the Constitution of the Society.
As it has been mentioned in the past, the preferred method of payment is online via the secure server of the Bank of Pireaus, using a direct bank transfer. For more details on this, as well as information on other methods of payment, please review the payment form listed bellow, or contact the Treasurer:

| 3. Membership in the IAU |
Individual and Junior Membership applications for IAU are submitted annually. The call for IAU membership applications to be submitted is open as of October 7th, 2023 and the applications should be received by December 15th, 2023. Members who are interested in joining IAU should contact Dr. Spyros Basilakos for more information.

| 4. A&A Awards 2024 |
We would like to inform our Members that the 4th call for the A&A Awards 2024 is now open! Please visit

We would like to encourage prospective candidates to apply. The deadline for the applications is November 30, 2023, and the winners will be announced in mid-February 2024. The Awards will be presented to the winners at the EAS Annual Meeting 2024 in Padova, Italy

5. Europlanet 2024 RI NA Call for Observations at the Europlanet Telescope Network
|
The Europlanet 2024 Research Infrastructure (RI) is funded by Horizon 2020 to support the research activities of the European planetary science community and foster international collaborations. The programme enables European observers (professional scientists and amateur astronomers) to visit and observe at telescope facilities of the so-called Europlanet Telescope Network through its Networking Activity 2 (NA2) – Coordination of Ground-based observations. The 1.2m Kryoneri telescope is one of the these facilities, and we encourage applications from the community. The submission deadline is 31 December 2023, with observations completed by 31 March 2024.
