1. SHORT NEWS
-------------
Earlier this year, Dr. Demosthenes Kazanas (NASA/GSFC, USA), a
founding member of Hel.A.S., was elected as "corresponding member"
of the Academy of Athens. A ceremony during which Dr. Kazanas will
deliver his inaugural talk entitled:
"Past, present and future of Cosmology"
will take place at the Academy of Athens on October 24, 2000 at 19:00.
2. MEMBERS IN NEW POSITIONS
---------------------------
Dr. Dimitris Psaltis has recently moved as postdoctoral fellow to
the Center for Space Research of the Massachusetts Instute of
Technology (USA).
3. ADDITIONS TO THE WEB PAGES OF HEL.A.S.
-----------------------------------------
Two new links were added to the "Astronomy Jobs" web page of
Hel.A.S. One points to the Nature Job Archive, which offers an
interactive search academic positions in various disciplines
worldwide. The second points to ERGASIA, a weekly publication in
greek which includes annoucements of academic positions in Greece.
