We would like to congratulate Román Fernández Aranda for successfully completing his PhD thesis entitled "The interstellar medium of active galaxies and Quasars in the high-redshift universe" at the Department of Physics the University of Crete under the supervision of Dr. Tanio Diaz-Santos. The Society extends its best wishes to Dr. Aranda for further successes in his professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Stelios Romanopoulos for successfully completing his PhD thesis entitled "Cosmic rays at the highest energies" at the Department of Physics the University of Crete under the supervision of Prof. Vasiliki Pavlidou. The Society extends its best wishes to Dr. Romanopoulos for further successes in his professional pursuits.
We would like to congratulate Elias Kyritsis for successfully completing his PhD thesis entitled "“The first unbiased X-ray survey of normal galaxies in the Local Universe: Understanding the connection between their X-ray emission and stellar populations” at the Department of Physics of the University of Crete under the supervision of Prof. Anreas Zezas. Dr. Kiritsis will be moving to the Max Planck Institute of Extraterrestrial Physics with a postdoctoral fellowship in January. The Society extends its best wishes to Dr. Kyritsis for further successes in his professional pursuits.

| 2. A&A Awards 2026 |
| The Board of Directors of Astronomy & Astrophysics (A&A) attributes two yearly Awards for outstanding research published in A&A by individuals in the initial stages of their careers. With these two Awards, the Board aims to recognise and contribute to the enthusiasm of the new generation of researchers who will shape the future of astronomy for decades to come. | 4. 6th Hel.A.S. Astrophysics Summer School |
|
We are pleased to announce the 6th Hel.A.S. Astrophysics Summer School, dedicated to the theme “Multi-Messenger Astronomy.” The School will be held at the Physics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from 24 to 28 August 2026. Further details, including invited lecturers and a provisional schedule, will be shared in the coming months.
