NUMBER 60 Extra issue February 10th, 2003
------------------------------------------------------------------------
E-mail: elaset@astro.auth.gr WWW: http://www.astro.auth.gr/elaset
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear colleagues
We issue this extra Newsletter because it has just been brought to our
attention by the Greek National Committee for Astronomy that the General
Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Development
has not clarified as yet if any funding will be provided to Greek astronomers
who wish to attend the 25th General Assembly of the International
Astronomical Union (IAU) which will be held in Sydney, Australia, during
13-26 July 2003.
The organizing committee of the IAU would like to remind all members of
Hel.A.S. that it can always provide travel funds to a limited number
of intending participants who are unable to obtain support from
national sources. The application form can be down loaded from:
htto://www.astronomy2003.com
following the links Scientific Program > downloads > travel grant
application form. Please note that the deadline for applications is
15 February 2003.
Initial abstracts for any oral or poster presentation must be
submitted online by 1 March 2003 or, if one is applying for an IAU
travel grant, by 15 February. Details are provided under the "Call for
Papers" section of the above mentioned web page.
For more specific questions you may contact directly the IAU
organizers by e-mail at enquiries@iau-ga2003.org
